MARCH 2010

Originally known as Rapture and scheduled to hand over at the end of ‘09, this 49.8m (163ft 4in) was a full-custom project like the ’08-launched Man of Steel. Her exterior was styled by Frank Laupman at Omega Architects in The Netherlands and the interior conceived by Mojo-Stumer Associates in New York. The scheme is said to be a very masculine – carbonfibre, stainless steel and dark makassar joinery.
“The architecture of the interior was created to reinforce a linear spatial quality without sacrificing internal headroom,” says Mark Stumer. “The mundane elements of everyday life − televisions, kitchen equipment, storage units and so on − have been concealed to express immaculate symmetry. This yacht has the window glazing employing an external butt-joint to eliminate dominant vertical mullions.”
Pushed along by twin MTU 16V4000 M90s, she has a half-load top speed of 23 knots. Her range at an economical 12 knots would be around 3,200nm.
She should leave Holland in April.
