The Feadship ‘Air’...

Recent Launches

This 81m motoryacht is presently receiving her finishing touches at an unused container port just outside Amsterdam. The guest balaconies on her upper decks are certainly different.

MAY 2011

Koninklijke De Vries, one of the two Feadship builders, recently launched the 81m (ft) Air. This striking quad-deck motoryacht is the second-longest Feadship ever and the largest to launch from the builder’s Aalsmeer facility. She is expected to leave Holland in mid-June.
Outwardly several features define her De Voogt-drawn profile. One is her high guest foredeck, complete with swimming pool; her working foredeck is concealed beneath. Then there are those glass-walled guest balconies with booth seating on either side of the upper deck.
And last but by no means least is her matt-black hull paint job. This is claimed to be the world’s first nano-technology yacht topcoat. It works beautifully. Dirt and water just drop off leaving a gloriously clean sheen. Repairs are likely to be tricky, however. The colour is said to be Harley-Davidson black.
Her modern and rather minimalist interior is by Remi Tessier. There is a split-level master suite forward.
MY Air is available for charter.
