Perini Navi delivers ‘Clan VIII’...

She’s the company’s fourth 45m steel sloop and 53rd launch to date.

The Perini Navi Group has delivered Clan VIII, the fourth of its Ron Holland-designed 45m (148ft) steel-hulled series. She includes a large flybridge and an opening stern that reveals stairs to a 7m² (75ft²)swimming platform.
SY Clan VIII’s mast stands 52m (171ft) above the waterline and her upwind sail area amounts to around 900m² (9,700ft²). With her centreboard up she draws just 3.9m (12ft 9in); with it down, the draught’s 8.75m (28ft 8in).
Auxiliary power comes from a single 1,100hp (820kW) Caterpillar C32 diesel that will propel her at up to 13.5 knots.

The Perini Navi Group presently has seven yachts at various stages of construction – 40m (131ft) and 50m (164ft) sailing yachts for delivery in ’12, one 38m (125ft) performance sailing yacht and one 60m (197ft) ketch for ’13, one 73m (239ft) Vitruvius motoryacht for ‘13, and two 60m (197ft) sailing yachts for delivery in ’14, one a sloop and the other a ketch.
