Privinvest company ADM Shipyards in Abu Dhabi has launched Yas. This 141m (462ft) steel-hulled motoryacht was converted from Dutch frigate at the UAE yard. She ranks as the world’s sixth-longest private yacht.
MY Yas was styled inside and out by Paris, France-based Pierrejean Design. Aesthetically the kindest thing to say of her is that she is certainly unusual look. She can comfortably accommodate up to 60 guests while modern diesel power and variable-pitch propellers assure a top speed of 26 knots and a 20-knot cruise. And she has trans-ocean range.
Her conversion was overseen by Det Norske Veritas (DNV) and she is the first yacht to have been built to comply with the newly created UAE Large Yacht Code. Her composite superstructure is claimed to be the largest composite object of its kind ever built.
In addition to ADM Shipyards, Privinvest shipyards include CMN (France), Nobiskrug (Germany), HSY (Greece), and ADM Kiel (Germany). Together the have delivered over 1,600 vessels, employ more than 2,500 people, and have a current order book of commercial, military and luxury vessels exceeding €2.7 billion.
