Vripack 141 project for JFA...

Design

This 43m research vessel-style motoryacht will begin fit-out at France’s JFA in June ’09.

APRIL 2009

A Vripack-designed and engineered 43m (141ft) research vessel-styled motoryacht is soon to be fitted out at the JFA Shipyard in Concarneau, France. She will be the yard’s third Vripack project and is destined for a repeat client. The hull and superstructure arrive separately at the yard in June.
With a maximum beam of 8.5m (27ft 11in) and a draught of 2.5m (8ft 2in), the project is based on the yard and Vripack’s previous all-aluminium explorer project, the 37.2m (122ft) Axantha, which launched in ’03, but with some scaling up and changes geared to making the go-anywhere vessel more efficient for owners and crew. As for her range, pushed along by twin 750hp Cummins, she should be good for 4,000nm at 12 knots.
She is being built to Bureau Veritas classification and will be Madeira flagged.
Delivery is scheduled for summer 2010.
