Vripack 61m explorer concept for Derecktor...

Design

This steel/aluminum go-anywhere motoryacht combines extreme seaworthiness with a high-volume interior.

NOVEMBER 2009

Designed for unrestricted trans-oceanic voyaging, she offers a round-bilge displacement hull with a flared blow and straight ‘even’ keel for optimal sea-keeping, speed and fuel efficiency. Her maximum beam is 12m (39ft 5in) and her half-load draught 3.2m (10ft 6in).
Top speed with twin-engine propulsion is projected at not less than 14.5 knots at half load. And at a 12.5-knot cruise she could deliver a colossal range of around 8,000nm range and that includes a 15 per cent ‘weather allowance’.
The hull’s enhanced scantlings will enable her to operate in arctic conditions, although she won’t be an official ‘ice-class’ vessel.
Provisionally designed with seven levels of living space, including a private owner’s deck, this Vripack 61m (200ft) could accommodate up to 14 guests and a crew of 14-16. But then this would be a custom project should derecktor find a client, so pretty much anything goes.
