Preview: Morgan’s new 55 Fast Commuter...

The first one goes into the water for summer 2010.

This 17.2m (56ft 6in) design, which was styled by Morgan’s in-house team led by Marco Mannino, is the latest from Morgan, which is part of the Aicon Group. The hull comes from the late Tom Fexas’s studio. The look is in keeping with the 93 Fast Commuter, the flagship of the range.
Morgan’s aim with this one is to reinterpret the classic commuter yacht style, defined by the vessels used by New York tycoons to run between Manhattan and Long Island between the end of the 1800s and the Second World War.
She’s certainly pretty. And the old-world charm extends to the interior.
The Morgan 55 has two MAN 800hp engines, which allow it to reach a cruising speed
of 28 knots and a maximum speed of 35 knots.
