The new Scorpion Strike will debut at SIBS 2010...

This 9m (29ft 6in) design is said to be a blurring of the edges between practical RIB and sportsboat.

JULY 2010

The Strike’s hull modifications have been worked out between Scorpion’s Greek sister company, RIBCO, and Scorpion RIBs UK; the superstructure of the boat has been designed under the guidance of Andy Griggs, Scorpion’s head of design.
The Scorpion Strike is based on a Scorpion remodelled stepped-hull and fitted with a single outboard engine. With a 300hp four-stroke outboard, the prototype has been reaching speeds in excess of 55 knots; fuel consumption was about 1 litre per mile at 35 knots.
The design also incorporates Ullman shock-absorbing seating.
The Scorpion Strike with a single Mercury 300hp Verado, Ullman seating, VHF, chartplotter and Flexitek decking is priced at £67,600, excluding VAT.
Other models on display at SIBS 2010 include the twin-engined Scorpion Serket 8.5m (27ft 10in) and the single-engined Scorpion Sport 6.5m (21ft 4in).
