The new Oyster 885...

She will be the biggest Rob Humphreys-designed deck-saloon model in the British company’s 14-38m (46-125ft) line-up. The owner’s cabin in particular includes a few neat touches.

Initially referred to as ‘Project PC’, this 27m (89ft) LOA cruising model has been drawn by Rob Humphreys. The aim with this one is to deliver the maximum length and specification possible without exceeding the MCA 24m rule. She will be suitable for private and charter roles.
Note the particularly large ‘split-cockpit’ and the fact that she will sport a ‘terrace on the sea’ with direct access from the owner’s cabin, which incidentally will feature glazed panels across the upper section of the aft bulkhead and deck to bring in extra light and boost spatial perception.
Then there are three en-suite guest cabins, one of which can be configured as a study or lower saloon area.
There are two crew cabins, plus a separate crew galley and mess area.
The hull of the Oyster 885 has been given a fairly fine entry to carve through seas, while the stern is relatively broad to deliver a high level of form stability and good off-wind potential.
The first 885 should take to the water for late 2012.
Over the past 10 years, more than 280 Humphreys-designed Oysters have delivered. The 885 will be the largest Humphreys design in the range. The new Oyster 100 and 125 superyachts, the first of which are under construction at RMK Marine in Tuzla, Turkey, are the work of Ed Dubois’s revered team.
