New high-volume Riviera 53 Enclosed Flybridge...

Design

Said to be the result of two years’ market research, her design was handled by Riviera’s Uni-Graphics NX 3D software system.

AUGUST 2010

This new 53 is the first Riviera Flybridge in the 50ft-plus range to offer a full-beam master stateroom with king-size bed and large ensuite and an enclosed flybridge with seating for 10. The flybridge, which comes with an opening sunroof as standard, is available in two layouts ‒ one with helm forward for long-distance cruising and the other with helm aft, which many skippers prefer when sports-fishing.
“The new 53 flybridge retains the distinctive Riviera styling but incorporates a new generation of technology and comfort,” says concept design manager Neil McCabe. “The 53 combines contemporary thinking with traditional elements. There is a lot of boat for its length. For instance, the new Riviera 53 offers more cockpit length and beam than a Riviera 61.”
Propulsion options include twin Volvo Penta IPS 1200s or three IPS600s units, the props of which pull, as well as ZF 4000 pods with twin counter-rotating propellers that push. With the latter ZF 4000 option buyers get the choice of Cats or MTUs. The standard offering delivers up to 35 knots.
Riviera has delivered no fewer than 4,800 boats over its 30-year history. Today Riviera offers 20 different models from 11-26m (36-85ft) across four model series Flybridge, Sport Yacht, Offshore Express and Motor Yachts.
