New design unveiled for Nordia 95 High-Performance cruiser.

JANUARY 2011

Two of the leading names in the Dutch superyacht industry ‒ Shipyard Van Dam Nordia and design studio Simonis Voogd ‒ have joined forces to develop a series of high performance cruising yachts. Their first model is a 29m (95ft) aluminium/carbon lift-keel sloop that should serve as well for bluewater cruising as well as a big-yacht regatta competition. In light mode she will displace 52 tonnes and 57.5 tonnes heavy.
She has a raised saloon with a glass roof and a cockpit with sliding roof. There are two steering positions and a lazarette big enough for a 3.85m (12ft 7in) Williams Turbojet.
Royal Van Dam Nordia was established in 1881, which makes it one of the oldest shipyards in the Netherlands. The yard designs and builds custom sail and motoryachts ranging from 15-37m (50-120ft).
With offices both in the Netherlands and South Africa, design studio Simonis Voogd has over 26 years of experience in designing racing yachts such as Nicorette and Nicorette II (Sydney-Hobart race) and Les Folies.
