Adam Vorhees’ Project 'Sans’...

Design

She’s a 19m high-performance sloop.

MARCH 2011

Project 'Sans' is a 19m (62ft 6in) LOA high-performance pre-preg carbon sloop designed by Burbank, California-based Adam Vorhees. The brief began as a major refit project for a well-known racing yacht on the US’s Eastern Seaboard. Much attention has been paid to reduce unnecessary weight, while retaining the large sail plan.
Sans features three separate cabins with en suite head-showers. Extensive use of opening polycarbonate panels along the coachroof ensures bright and airy spaces. Hydraulics control all sail handling and there’s a hidden anchor system and fold-down beach transom that conceals a tender garage.
