Design

The Groupe Bénéteau catamaran brand is going larger with the help of longstanding group build partner CNB.

APRIL 2011

Groupe Beneteau’s Lagoon, the world’s largest cruising player, has had its larger models ‒ those over 50ft (15m) ‒ built at CNB since 1999. But thus far the operation hasn’t built Lagoons bigger than 67ft (20.4m). However, now the Lagoon-CNB co-operation is looking to the next level for ‘Lagoon Custom’ which will potentially go up well over 100ft (30m) with cats, sail and power.
Various designs are being proposed from studios such as VPLP, Philippe Briand, Bill Dixon, Berret-Racoupeau and Morrelli & Melvin. But ultimately any large-cat project from any designer could become a Lagoon Custom project.
Bordeaux, France-based CNB can build in composites or aluminium.
