Hot Lab’s 86m Oceanco concept...

Design

Called ‘PA168’, she is based on the Dutch yard’s proven technical platform. Looks great, doesn’t she?

MAY 2011

Concept 'PA168' is a new 86m (282ft) interpretation on the successful Oceanco platform by the Milan-based studio Hot Lab. Visual ‘lightness’ is a key feature of her exterior says her designers.
Note the beach area around the main-deck swimming pool sports a cascade waterfall.
The upper deck and owner’s deck are linked externally by bold arches that add an imposing graphic effect, while also tricking the eye into believing that two deck levels are in fact one and providing the 200m² (2,152ft²) owner’s apartment with ample natural light. A forward terrace leading off the owner’s deck can serve as an open-air gym. The area forward of the antenna mast houses another area reserved exclusively for the owner’s use. Painted black to minimise its visual impact, the accompanying 320m² (3,443ft²) of private sundeck features a Jacuzzi, sun loungers and two large skylights in the deckhead that illuminate the owner’s accommodation below.
She is proposed with a pair of MTU 20V4000s that would deliver a top speed of 20 knots and a range of around 5,500nm at a constant 15 knots.
