CRN’s new Classic 52...

Design

The Ancona yard is mixing '70 and '80s retro style with more modern themes for this one.

JUNE 2011

The Ferretti Group says its new 52m (170ft) CRN Classic 52 blends ‘70s and ‘80s style with the technology of the new millennium. The lines pick up on those of the 47m (154ft) Azzurra and the 61m (200ft) Il Vagabondo.
The steel/aluminium Classic 52 was developed by the Ancona yard with Studio Zuccon International Project for up to 12 guests and 12 crew. Propulsion is down to twin C32 cats and the top speed is quoted as 15.5 knots and the maximum cruise 14.5 knots.
She is proposed various balconies and three tenders – one of which would be stowed the old fashioned way on the upper or boat deck; the area doubles as a helicopter touch-and-go pad. The new Riva Iseo, which is 8.20m (27ft) long, would just about fit the bill. Once the big tender is at sea, the boat deck space can transform into a large multipurpose lounge/dining area.
The beach club at her stern continues the successful formula developed with the more recently launched 54m (177ft) Ability and the 60m (197ft) Blue Eyes. Note the windows in the transom door and the long quarter lights! The idea is this space will be usable in and out of harbour.
