Design

The Australian studio has recently completed two new designs – a 21m Explorer and a 15m Pilothouse motoryacht – for US-based Bering Yachts. Both profiles have a distinctly modern edge to them.

JUNE 2011

Sabdes Design has recently completed two new semi-custom concepts for Bering Yachts of the USA ‒ a 21m (69ft) trideck explorer with a beam of 7.00m (23ft) and a 15m (49ft) raised pilothouse motoryacht with a maximum beam of 5.00m (16ft 5in). The designs fit in Berings range of 15m-24m (50-80ft) Steel ocean-going motoryachts. Both vessels have the serious cruising itineraries in mind, and are inherently economic to operate with the options of conventional powertrains or ReGen Nautic hybrid propulsion.
Australian industrial designer Scott Blee says Sabdes has, beyond its usual superyacht design work, now been involved with four client projects in the under 24m (80ft) sector.
Each of these concepts is based upon an in-house engineered steel-hull platform.
