CNB 86 launches in Bordeaux...

Industry News

This new Philippe Briand-designed aluminium sloop is the latest to join the Groupe Bénéteau-division’s deck-saloon family. She's the French yard's second launch of the year. Photos: Nicolas Claris.

She’s got elegant lines and she’s going to be fast. Her waterline length is virtually the same as her over the deck measurement; her sides are almost vertical and she’s got a lift keel, both of which should help with her upwind work. That keel take a minimum draught of 2m (6ft 6in) up to a maximum draught of 4m (13ft 1in) and her upwind sail plan delivers getting on for 400 square-metres (4,300 square-feet).
Following sea trials, she’ll be handed over in late July.
