Bestevaer line extended with 45-footer...

Industry News

Like all other plumb-bow Bestevaers, she was designed by Dykstra & Partners and will be built by K&M Yachtbuilders in Makkum, The Netherlands.

Measuring 13.70m (45ft) in length, she is the smallest model in the aluminium portfolio thus far. She’ll get the characteristic wheelhouse plus two double cabins and a shower-room. Building is due start in the spring of 2010.
Her commissioning owner is actually a downsizer. He started with the Bestevaer 60C Guadalupé, which had a clipper bow and then ordered the 53ST Alice.
"After launching our first Bestevaer 49ST last summer we registered significant interest in smaller vessels,” says Eeuwe Kooi, K&M’s owner. “And many visitors to our boat exhibitions have told us the Bestevaer 53ST was their dream ship, but that it was a bit too big for them... So now there's the Bestevaer 45ST."
Presently K&M has five yachts under construction: an Icon 48, an Axonite 69, a Stadtship 54 and a Stadtship 56. And late November saw the yard deliver a 21.3m (70ft) hull to Van Dam Nordia.
And then for 2010 it will begin work on a Bestevaer 55ST, a Bestevaer 49ST and the Bestevaer 45ST.
