Discovery 50 Cat...

Industry News

She’s a Bill Dixon design with a Ken Freivokh interior.

JANUARY 2010

Southampton, Hampshire, UK-based Discovery Yachts has unveiled the Discovery 50 Cat, the bluewater sailing yacht builder’s first multihull. With her very fine bows, sweeping deck profile and stunningly shaped windows, this yacht looks good, but keeps the extended cruising faith; as with the Discovery 55 and 67 monohulls, this one can be sailed comfortably by just two people. The design can sleep up to eight in four cabins, although a three-cabin version is also an option.
Note the foredeck has an in-built hot tub.
The owners of Discovery Yachts, John and Caroline Charnley, have bought the first one and will soon be taking her across to the Caribbean.
