It is pushing ahead with £15 million development of the ‘South Yard’ at the historic Royal Devonport Dockyard in Plymouth, Devon, UK.

MARCH 2010

The 15-acre site was acquired by the company last year. It is part of the company’s big push into the superyacht sector – it has a 32m (105ft) launching later this year and a 40m (131ft) launching for late 2011.
“Significant modifications are needed at South Yard to sustain our future production plans,” says Chris Gates, Princess Yachts’ MD. “It is a sign of real strength that, in the turmoil of this economic downturn, we are still able to look forward positively... The new South Yard facility is additional production capacity to the five existing sites the company already operates in the area.”
Following further local government consultation, formal planning applications for adaptation of the site will be submitted. The rendering shows the present vision.
