Industry News

The facility is in Lanester, near Lorient, Brittany.

APRIL 2010

Responsible for the Privilège, Feeling, Transcat and Tresco brands, France’s Alliaura Marine opened the site officially on April 9; 350 people attended, including many local dignitaries.
The seven-hectare site comprises an existing building of 20 000m² (215,000ft²) that has been adapted for yachbuilding. It includes 6 000m² (65,000ft²) for a lamination department and a 2 500m² (27,000ft²) joinery shop.
Overall, the facility represents an investment of around €10 million.
On the assembly side, the plant has actually been operational since September ‘09 with around fifty employees. New recruitment of 20 or so persons is planned to start the production of the GRP and in order to expand the carpentry team.
For now the Lorient plant will focus on the construction of the multihulls, while its other site in Les Sables d'Olonne will concentrate on the Feeling range.
