Industry News

This new American-built performance cruiser model is still on track for ‘Hull No1’ to sail in late June.

APRIL 2010

She’s a sleek 11m (36ft) one-design/performance cruiser with a large and comfortable cockpit, easy-to-handle sail plan, and 1.9m (6ft 3in) headroom below. She features an optimized e-glass/vinylester hull and deck, a low-VCG stainless steel L-keel, a retractable carbon sprit, rail-mounted shroud terminals, and a low-profile jib furler.
The model’s 17m (56ft) prepreg carbon mast from Hall Spars is said to make use of ‘nanotube’ technology to reduce weight, lower VCG and improve stiffness compared to other carbon rigs; its claimed to be a first for the sailboat industry.
The main cabin features an open layout with L-shaped galley, forward-facing navstation, a wet locker and two full-length settee berths with option for additional fold-up cots.
Six can comfortably sit at the saloon table.
Two quarter berths are standard, as well as a forward head and removable V-berth.
Two dozen orders are said to have been placed from North America, Europe, China and New Zealand.
