New 'open policy' UK refit facility...

Industry News

Solent Refit is occupies a prime site on Southampton Water, the 24/7 deep-water channel between the Solent and Isle of Wight and Southampton Docks.

APRIL 2010

Solent Refit features 14 service berths for yachts up to 100m (328ft) on working pontoons with vehicle access and a large-capacity parallel 1,500-tonne slipway for vessels up to 70m (230ft). It can accommodate double-digit yachts afloat and ashore, both undercover and outside. A rail-transfer system moves boats from slipway to the sheds.
There are offices available and plenty of room for containers. And the site has 24-hour security.
The operation’s 'open policy' means yachtbuilders or yachts can use the facilities and select their own preferred contractors to carry out maintenance or refit work. There are plenty of local specialists as this part of the UK is prime yachting territory.
The Solent Refit site is fully ISPS compliant.
It is managed by Yacht Project Associates.
