Boston Whaler’s ‘health & safety’ milestone...

Industry News

The Edgewater, Florida builder of the famous Boston Whaler range of runabouts and sports-fishing boats has managed 2,000,000 hours without a ‘lost time incident’.

JUNE 2010

It took Boston Whaler employees almost three years of working safely to reach the two million hour mark, with the last lost-time recordable incident taking place in July of 2007. The plant has reached one million hours without a lost-time incident twice before, but this is the first time in its 23-year history that it has achieved two million consecutive working hours without a lost-time incident.
“Reaching two million hours without a lost-time incident is an outstanding accomplishment and I sincerely thank and congratulate our employees for their diligence and hard work,” says John Ward, president at Boston Whaler. “We believe it is every employee’s responsibility to create and maintain our safe working conditions and I am very pleased with the commitment to the high safety standards and record at our facility.”
To commemorate the achievement, Boston Whaler, part of the Brunswick Corporation, will celebrate with a plant-wide ‘cookout’ and gifts for the employees.
