Imminent launch for ‘Twizzle’...

Industry News

The Royal Huisman super-ketch will soon be out of her fit-out shed.

JUNE 2010

Royal Huisman’s Twizzle (Yard No386), a 57.5m (189ft) modern flybridge ketch designed by Ed Dubois’s team. Her Southern Spars masts will be carbonfibre and her rigging PBO. Her 62m (203ft) main mast will just clear the ‘Bridge of the Americas’ on the Panana Canal and thanks to a swing keel her draught will vary from 3.8-10.8m (12ft 6in-35ft 6in).
One of her owners’ requirements for this 550-ton (1,213,000lbs) super-ketch is for ‘motoryacht amenities’; and note they know what they are talking about, having previously owned not only a 47m (154ft) Perini Navi, but also commissioned a few years ago the 55.5m (182ft) Feadship of the same name. The interior of this one is the work of Redman Whitely Dixon, but Justin Redman worked closely on decoration with the UK studio Todhunter Earle. It is being closely guarded until she is shown off properly, probably at Monaco 2010.
The project manager is Steve Jacover.
Sea-trials commence from Harlingen on July 8 and she should depart Holland in September.
