Viareggio, Italy-based Cantieri Navali Overmarine acquires Gruppo Baglietto assets in liquidation sale.

Industry News

The Italian family-owned builder of the Mangusta range has acquired the Baglietto yards in La Spezia and Varazze, as well as Cantieri di Pisa in Pisa.

SEPTEMBER 2010

The deal should see the new group continue to build composite yachts under the Mangusta brand, steel/aluminium and all-aluminium yachts under the Baglietto brand and composite yachts under the Di Pisa/Akhir brand.
The deal price was reported in La Stampa at €33 million.
Sanlorenzo was also a front runner for Gruppo Baglietto, which was run into the ground by the Camuzzi Group, which acquired it six years or so ago. Sanlorenzo majority-owner and president Max Perotti says he was very disappointed not to have been successful, but the price ended up being too high.
