Industry News

Hull No774 was originally launched in ’96. Watch the promo video here!

The gleaming brass plaque on her dashboard says it all: ‘Aquarama Special Number 774 is one of the final six hand built wooden boats constructed by Cantieri Riva representing the pinnacle of over 150 years of boat building tradition in the company from 1842 to 1996’.
She goes under the hammer as a feature lot in a ‘Muscle Cars & More Sale’ at Mecum Auctions’ site in Osceola Heritage Park, Kissimmee, Florida, USA, on Saturday 29 at 05.15pm.
Purchased new in ‘96 and still with the same owners, the founding family of the Sony Corporation, Hull No774 is the last wooden Riva Aquarama Special sold to the public and quite possibly the most original wooden Riva in the world, meaning she still retains even the original factory-applied varnish and brightwork. She has been professionally stored, serviced and maintained since new, during which time it has accrued fewer than 20 operating hours on its powerful twin Riva Crusader 454 CI engines.
Simply known as “The Last Riva, this beautiful hand-crafted vessel is unequalled not only in elegance and performance, with superb manners and a top speed approaching 90 km/h, but in originality and exclusivity as well.
