JUNE 2011

Work on the Ferretti Group Brasil facility began just over a year ago and it already employs around 600 people. The facility will eventually have the capacity to build up to 120 boats a year below 25m (83ft).
One of the largest yachtbuilding facilities in Latin America, the site just outside São Paulo occupies 145,000m² (1.6mft²) of which 45,000m² (484,000ft²) is fully covered.
Ferretti Group Brasil was founded in April 2010, following a joint venture between Ferretti Group and partner Marcio Latorre Christiansen, who has a 20-year-plus relationship with the Ferretti Group.
The opening ceremony was attended by various local digitaries Giancarlo Galeone (third from left in picture below), the group’s CEO, Lamberto Tacoli (second from right), the group’s chief sales and marketing officer, and of course Marcio Latorre Christiansen (third from right), CEO of Ferretti Group Brasil.
“The outstanding results we are achieving in the Brazilian market and the Ferretti Group’s excellent order book, which presently accounts for over 80 per cent of the forecasted turnover for the year to August 31, ‘11, all contribute to our increasing optimism for the future,” says Giancarlo Galeone.
