Heesen sells ‘Project Ventura’...

Industry News

She’s an all-aluminium 23-knot 50m.

JANUARY 2012

Heesen Yachts has announced the sale of ‘Project Ventura’, which has the yard number YN16050; fabrication began last year 'on spec'. She’s the third in the Dutch yard’s new 50m (164ft) all-aluminium 499GT series and the fourth new-build contract to have been signed in 2011.
Those clean lines come from Heesen-favourite Frank Laupman at Omega Architects and Van Oossanen Associates helped Heesen’s in-house naval architects created her efficient hard-chine hull. Italian designer Francesco Paszkowski helped translate the owners’ interior requirements – ebony soles and whitened oak furniture – minimalist, contemporary, chic.
Thanks to twin 2,720kW MTUs, she’s good for up to 23 knots and a range of 3.200Nm at 12 knots.
The delivery of YN 16050, Project Ventura, is scheduled for spring 2013.
The first 50m alloy (YN15250 Sartori) delivered in February ‘11. She will number among the world’s fastest semi-displacement 50m motoryachts
Heesen Yachts presently has 12 new-builds in progress that add up to 584m (1,916ft). Their delivery slots stretch to ’15. Three more of those were started ‘on spec’ and are ‘available’.
