New CEO for Mondo Marine...

It’s Robert Zambrini.

Italian superyacht builder Mondo Marine has named Roberto Zambrini as its new CEO. Zambrini (54) has been in the marine industry since he graduated with a first degree in economics and then a MBA at Milan’s Bocconi University in the mid ‘80s. He was most recently CEO at Cantieri di Pisa and before that was managing director of Sanlorenzo and prior to that Saim.
His appointment was made by Marco Stroppiana, who remains Mondo Marine’s chairman.
We understand that the yard’s previous CEO Diego de Prati is to head up the new Baglietto.
The Mondo Marine yard is in Savona, where it occupies a 35,000m² (377,000ft²) waterside site, of which 9,500m² (102,000ft²) is under cover. In all it has well over 100m (330ft) of quays. Facilities include a 820-tonne travel-hoist, which is claimed to be one of the largest in the Mediterranean, and a 300-900-tonne cradle.
Founded in 1978 by brothers Ferruccio and Elio Stroppiana, the company initially focused on the production of medium-sized yachts.
But in the early 1990s Mondo Marine began custom building steel/aluminium and aluminium superyachts over 40m (131ft).
Mondo Marine is part of the diversified Mondo Group.
