The ali-hulled 580 QRV looks like a great all-rounder.

JULY 2011

Wanganui, New Zealand-based AMF, the custom RIB-tender builder, has expanded its range downwards. Slotting in under the present 7.5-11.7m (24ft 7in-38ft 5in) line-up, which includes the 750, 900, 950 and 1170, its latest new model is the 5.8m (19ft) 580. Propelled by a 200hp MerCruiser Sport Jet power plant, she’s good for 40 knots, although she will also take other powertrains and outboards. Like the rest of the AMF range her hull is fabricated from heavy-duty plate aluminium.
“We’ve designed the 580 RIB to be a great all rounder that will suit a variety of user applications,” says AMF director Brian Collings. “It’s the type of tender that owners serious about their boating and on-water activities will appreciate... It would be ideal for expedition-style superyachts.”
The release of the 580 QRV follows on from the recent delivery of a custom 915 RIB tender Mostrino II built for superyacht MY Karima.
