Aquos Yachts' ‘Star Fish’ is progressing at McMullen & Wing...

Yard Updates

The Auckland, New Zealand-based yard will launch her in 2012.

SEPTEMBER 2010

Following the launch of the 45m (ft) Big Fish earlier in the year, yacht marketing and charter company Aquos Yachts has already ordered her sister from its preferred builder, Mount Wellington, Auckland, New Zealand-based McMullen & Wing. The 50m (164ft) Star Fish is much the same prospect, but at 50m (164ft) she’s a little longer. She will provide for up to 12 guests and a crew complement of 12. The design team and profile remains much the same and metal has already started to be cut. Despite the extra length, Greg Marshall and team have kept her tonnage below 500GT; principally because the extra five metres is on the transom to provide more storage for tenders.
Features aboard include video ceilings and a 38m-long owner’s deck, complete with two exterior decks and a swimming pool.
