Yard Updates

Vincenzo Moccia says contrary to industry rumours the company is presently very busy and his chairman Sandro Picchiotti (pictured) is emphatic that the yard is “not for sale”.

JANUARY 2011

Italy’s Leopard Yachts – AKA Cantiere Navale of Limite Sull’Arno, near Pisa – is presently thriving, according to CEO Vincenzo Moccia, who joined the company from Benetti and before that the Camuzzi Group (Baglietto/Di Pisa) to restructure it two years ago following the dissolution of its longstanding exclusive rights deal with the ailing Rodriquez Group.
Moccia is supported by the Picchiotti family that have owned the yard for many years. The chairman is Sandro Picchiotti (pictured), a member of the UCINA board, and vice-chairman is Paolo Picchiotti.
Work in progress includes a Leopard 27m, 34m and 46m for delivery in summer ‘11, and a 34m and 46m for launches in ’12. Plus it says it has ‘letters of intent’ for three more for ‘12/13 deliveries – a 34m, a 46m and a 58m.
“When I first joined the team,” says Vincenzo Moccia, “I accepted a challenge... It’s now two years on and I can look back with satisfaction. The order book is growing, the team is solid and the new organization will give the final necessary surge of adrenaline.”
