Alloy Yachts begins plate cutting for ‘AY45’...

Yard Updates

She’s a Dubois-drawn 43.9m sloop with an in-house interior.

The Auckland, New Zealand-based yard is building her for repeat clients, the owners of ‘AY8’ project Eclipse. We hear they want a bigger and more modern version of their beloved family yacht. A notable feature of the new 43.9m (144ft) is a stepped transom similar to one aboard their 20-year-old yacht. Those steps provide a wonderful extension to the outdoor living area and provide a perfect spot for fishing or just hanging out and watching the wake while underway.
Alloy Yachts remains busy. It is in the process of handing over 'AY41' Vertigo, the 67m Vertigo, and is well progressed with 'AY43' and 'AY44', respectively a 47m (154ft) Dubois-drawn flybridge motoryacht and a 39m (128ft) all-aluminium René van der Velden-designed explorer-style motoryacht with a Redman Whiteley Dixon interior.
She will deliver for late 2012.
