Fabrication well progressed for largest ever Moonen...

Yard Updates

This 42m custom project is to accommodate a three-man submersible.

APRIL 2011

About a year ago Moonen secured its largest-ever new-build contract, YN194. She is a full-custom 42m (137ft) long-range steel/aluminium trideck. The project started out as a 133 and was intended to carry a two-man submersible capable of diving to 100m (328ft). But she’s since been stretched to accommodate a three-man sub.
The René van der Velden styling of this one is perhaps best described as elegant explorer. She’s for a repeat client that has already owned a Moonen 84 and a 97. Her hull and superstructure, which are presently being fabricated at Dutch subcontractors, should arrive at the Groot-Ammers facility in June.
It is hoped she will complete in time to put in an appearance at Monaco ’12.
