Yard Updates

The Dutch yard’s specialist refit division has won two major refit contracts ‒ both Lürssen-built vessels – the 93m three-masted schooner ‘Eos’ and the 40m motoryacht ‘Be Mine’.

Royal Huisman’s Huisfit team ‒ a dedicated refit operation for yachts sail or power, classic or modern ‒ has recently secured two major contracts. Both are Lurssen-built.
At 93m (305ft) LOA, the 1,500GT three-masted schooner Eos is presently the world’s largest sailing yacht. Launched by Lürssen in ‘06, she now needs assorted work done: a new paint job for hull, superstructure and spars; an overhaul of deck equipment and Rondal spars; teak deck maintenance; extensive service work to onboard systems (including five-year Lloyds re-certification) and the air conditioning system; plus a range of general works and cosmetic repairs. SY Eos’s refit will be undertaken under cover in Harlingen, whilst the spars will return to Royal Huisman/Rondal’s headquarters in Vollenhove for refurbishment and re-painting.
The steel/aluminim 40m (131ft) motoryacht Be Mine launched originally in ’91 and is now in need of some updating and re-modelling work. In addition to general repairs and cosmetic, she requires: a new paint on her underwater body, hull and superstructure; construction work that includes updates to the sun deck, main deck and hull; new portholes; replacement teak decks; service work to onboard systems; interior modifications, including upgrades to the upholstery; and updates to electronics (entertainment, navigation and communication). MY Be Mine will be hauled out at the yard in Vollenhove in the coming weeks, with her re-launch scheduled for spring ‘12.
