Yard Updates

She’s an all-ali 40m motoryacht for delivery in ’13.

NOVEMBER 2011

The keel laying ceremony for Tecnomar’s first Impero, a 40m (131ft) all-aluminium semi-displacement motoryacht, was held at the Italian yard last Wednesday. A ‘good luck’ coin was placed into the keel. Designed by Luca Dini in cooperation with the yard’s in-house team, and powered by twin 1,920hp MTU 16V2000 M94s, she should have a maximum speed of 19 knots and a cruising speed of 17 knots. She will have RINA Green Plus certification and delivery is scheduled for ‘13.
“This ceremony represents an important step forward in the company growth process started on ‘09,” says Tecnomar president, Giovanni Costantino.
“The Impero 40m (131ft) is one of four important recent sales... The others include an aluminium Impero 45m (148ft), a steel/aluminium Regale 33m (108ft), and the yard’s first sailing yacht, a composite 23m (76ft) ‘Tecnosail Silent’.”
